During the race of Le Mans, Audi had showed off with their Audi R8 e-tron electric sports car at the race. Before that, Audi also showed this prototype at Detroit, with the tech wrapped in a TT-sized body.

R4 e-tron has a motor on each of its wheels, which can provide total of 331 hp and 4500 Nm of torque, and 70 % of the power distributed to the rear wheel. Also the 0-100 km/h recorded as just 4.8 second which is surprising everyone.

The four motors have the torque vectoring system which means that that understeer and oversteer can be easily adjusted by activation of the brakes, and also by precise increases in power by few milliseconds. According to Audi, R8 e-tron remain extremely neutral even under great lateral acceleration, “hustling through corners as if on the proverbial rails”.

Furthermore, only six to eight hours needed to charge the car’s lithium-ion battery with the household plug socket with 230 volts and 16 amperes. Besides, kinetic energy from the brakes is recuperated, channeled to the alternator and converted into electrical energy.
