Lexus LFA
Audi and Mercedes-Benz are already ahead of the electric supercar game with the Audi R8 e-tron and the SLS AMG E-Cell, respectively. It is now reported that Japanese rival Lexus doesn’t plan on staying far behind and is working on an electric supercar of its own.
An insider at Toyota tells Motor Trend that the company has plans to develop a supercar to go against the SLS AMG E-Cell and the R8 e-tron. It will push more than 500-hp and will sprint from 0-60 mph in around 4 seconds, insiders say.
Reports suggest that the car will have four electric-motors, one at each wheel, much like the SLS AMG E-Cell. It will also offer three driving modes including comfort, sport and super sport, which will help regulate battery usage.
The Lexus electric supercar is expected to debut in 2015. We’re guessing Tesla Motors will play some important role in all this. Stay tuned.
