Recently the New Zealand Performance Car team went down to the unveiling of kiwi drifter, Daynom Tempelman’s new FD3S RX-7 built specifically for the international drift rounds to be held in south east Asia, and the world formula drift events later on in the year.

There was a good turn out for the event with drinks flowing throughout the evening, with a great atmosphere at the warehouse location. All of Daynoms sponsors had stands and represented at the venue. His older RX-7 which will still be used for all NZ events was also on display.

Pushing the build deadline, Daynom’s team almost had the car finished with only a few minor bits and pieces left to do when the car was unveiled.

When the smoke cleared and the covers came off, the RX-7 wowed all onlookers with its super GT style body-kit, custom gold/olive hue and super deep dish rims. When the engine was opened it gave us one of the first looks into the 800hp rotary engine that’s destined to take on some serious international competition.
